Born Courtney Powell, was born August 28th 1987 in Tuskegee, Alabama. She is the only and oldest child living of two. Courtney is a very talented young, African American woman from the Eastern part of Macon County, Alabama. She's had a strong interest and passion for music since the tender age of 5 years old.
Miss.CeeCee has had several opportunities to participate in major events and auditionings. In 2005, she had the opportunity to audition for Americam Idol and also had a chance to network with a few different artist from around the US..... In 2007, she performed the National Anthem at the Biscuits Baseball game, in Montgomery, Alabama. In the month of February 2011, she auditioned for Americas Got Talent in Atlanta Georgia. On July 4th of 2011, Courtney auditioned and participated in the first annual Tuskegee Talent Explosion 2011. She became the FIRST person to become a FIRST PLACE winner in the this wonderful event, thanks to God and to the wonderful mayor of Tuskegee, MAYOR OMAR NEAL. She really worked hard to fullfil her goal in winning first place in the competition. This will be one Independence Day that she will NEVER forget ....
On July 29th, she had the opportunity to play the role as the ASTOUND Miss. Etta James in the musical, A Wonderful Night of Music", written and directed by the most gracious, international recording artist, Mrs. Diane Cameron Elam. This event was a very exciting event for Miss.CeeCee.
As an artist, Miss.CeeCee-ThaEgo is very SERIOUS. She has a strong passion and desire for her music; shes strictly about business. When it comes down to the long hours in the studio, she doesn't mind doing overtime. She is definitely, a strong-minded and very determined individual. From her teenage years, she has had different experiences with different types of artists. Some experiences were good, others were horrible, however, she remains FOCUS, STEADFAST, and HUMBLE!!! Miss.CeeCee is now in the stage of her life where she realizes that peruing music isn't just a hobby for her anymore; this is what she was born to do. This is her life and career. In due time, her blessings shall come.
